Constitution

 

1.  Name

The club shall be known as “Cumbernauld Tartan Army” hereinafter known as “the club”

 

2.  Objective

The objective of “the club” shall be to support the Scotland national football team wherever in the world it is playing.

 

3.  Membership

Membership shall be open to any individual, subject to approval. The approval will include taking in to account previous conduct at football matches and membership of the Scotland Supporters Club (SSC).

 

4.  AGM

The Annual General Meeting shall be held on the last Sunday of February each year. This will include the election of office bearers on an annual  basis.

 

5.  Meetings

Meetings will be held on a need only basis with all members to be invited.

 

6.  Membership Fees

The fees for membership shall be decided at the AGM by the members.

 

7.  Finance

The Club is a not-for-profit organisation. No individual or group shall benefit financially from The Club. The financial year shall end the day of the AGM. The primary purpose of collecting funds shall be to subsidise SSC re-registration fees for full members.

 

8.  Expenditure

Cheques must be signed by two members of the committee.

 

9.  Auditor

An auditor shall be appointed to audit “the clubs” accounts on an annual basis.

 

10. Behaviour of Members

Any member deemed guilty of improper conduct shall be subject to disciplinary action. Anyone subsequently expelled or resigning shall have no claim to any subscriptions paid.

 

11. Disputes

Any queries or disputes should be put in writing to the Secretary. A meeting shall subsequently be arranged to discuss the matter within 4 weeks.

 

12. Amendments

The committee shall be empowered to make recommendations alterations and/or additions to the Constitution and Rules which shall be deemed binding until amended at the next meeting of “the club“ which will take place within 4 weeks of the recommendation being made.

 

13. Dissolution

If the existing membership falls below 9 full members for a period of at least 3 months, the club will be deemed not viable and all existing funds will be donated to a selected charity of the remaining membership.

 

 

The Committee

 

Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Club Secretary Vice Secretary, Treasurer, Social Convenor, Travel Convenor 

(The Chairperson shall have the casting vote in the event of a tied vote) 

 

 

Membership Rules

 

1.  Membership Fees

Full - £10 joining fee (SSC applications fees are not included) and £5 per bus.

Associate - is a spouse/partner or is recommended by a fully paid up member of “the club” who shall be accountable for ensuring that the associate member adheres to club rules. Associate members are entitled to pay £7 per seat on the bus (subject to availability and only after full members are accommodated) and for entry into all “club” events on a first come first served basis. Associate membership is only available to be used for ticket purchase and bus travel on at most 2 occasions in any season.

Juveniles (U16) - free membership (Under 16s travelling with “the club” must be accompanied at all times by an adult). Juveniles shall be eligible to pay 50% of the full membership home travel costs.

 

2.  Tickets

In order to keep members together at matches, the travel conveners shall be responsible for co-ordinating ticket requests and forwarding these to the SSC. All ticket requests and fees must be received 10 days before the SSC prescribed latest date.

 

3.  Home Travel

All members travelling to home games must inform the Travel Convener at least four weeks before the fixture. All tickets will be handed out on the bus on the way to the match. Cancellations on the day of the match are liable for full payment of ticket and bus fees.

 

4.  Buses

Buses shall leave Cumbernauld from TBC at times to be advised to members.  NOTE: This is a family bus and there is NO SMOKING.

 

5.  Alcohol

No alcohol to be taken on buses (Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 1980)

 

6.  Language

Members are expected to keep swearing, foul or abusive language to a minimum although parents/ adults should be aware that some bad language may be used but this is not endorsed by “the club“.

 

7.  SSC

All members must sign up for membership of SSC. Membership of “the club” will be terminated if for any reason membership of SSC is terminated. Members must contact the SSC themselves for membership application and renewal forms.

 

8.  Away Travel

The committee shall appoint an Away Co-ordinator for each away game. This member will collect information from members travelling and disseminate information regarding easiest and cheapest routes to those members travelling. Any member wishing to set aside savings to pay for away travel can contact the treasurer to set up a standing order for any amount. All monies paid into “the clubs” account will remain the property of the individual member and can be withdrawn at the members request until such time that Deposits (non refundable) or Final Balances for travel are due.

 

9.  Disassociation

Any serious breach of the membership rules or the constitution shall result in the member losing their membership. Any resignation from the membership shall be reported at the following AGM after the reason for resignation has been ascertained by the committee.

 

10. One Scotland - One Voice

No bigotry, racism, ageism or sexism will be tolerated within “the club”. Instances of this shall constitute a serious breach of  club rules.
